The 800+ child benefit is available to every parent or legal guardian of a child under 18 — without an income threshold. Paid monthly by ZUS.

Who can receive 800+?
- Mother or father of a child under 18 years of age
- Legal or actual guardian of a child
- Foster family or family group home manager
- Resident of Poland (citizen or foreigner with residence rights)
The 800+ benefit is not included in the family income when calculating other benefits (e.g., family allowance or housing supplement).

- Is 800+ taxable?
- No, the 800+ benefit is free from income tax.
- Do I need to apply every year?
- Yes, applications must be submitted for each new benefit period (usually starting in February).
- Does 800+ apply to foreigners?
- Yes, provided the foreigner resides legally in Poland under a title granting permanent residence (e.g. Karta Polaka, EU long-term resident status, or a permanent residence permit) and actually lives in Poland.
- Does 800+ count as income for other benefits?
- No. The 800+ benefit is excluded from income when determining eligibility for the family allowance, alimony fund, MOPS social assistance and other means-tested benefits.
- What happens if I don't apply for the new benefit period?
- The benefit will be suspended. You can apply late, but the back payment covers at most 3 months before the date of the new application.
