Key Questions
- How much is the birth grant and is there an income limit?
- The birth grant is a one-time PLN 1,000 payment. It is available when household income per person does not exceed PLN 2,500 net per month (assessed on the previous tax year or last 3 months).
- Does 800+ exclude the birth grant?
- No — they are independent benefits; you can receive both simultaneously.
- What is the application deadline?
- The application must be submitted within 12 months of the child's birth. Late applications are rejected with no possibility of reinstating the deadline.
- What documents are required?
- A medical certificate or midwife's statement confirming prenatal care in the 2nd and 3rd trimester; a short-form birth certificate; proof of identity; income documents covering the last 3 months or the annual PIT return.
- Can a single father apply?
- Yes. Either parent, a legal guardian or a factual guardian may apply. The prenatal care certificate refers to the mother — it must be included in the file even if the father submits the application.
